National Treasury CAA Traineeship Programme
The National Treasury is one of the departments of the South African government. The Treasury manages national economic policy, prepares the South African government’s annual budget and manages the government’s finances.
The National Treasury is committed to youth and skills development in the country. The Graduate Development Programme is directed at university graduates who have completed or are in the process of completing their degrees in 2019.
The three (3) year professional training has been structured in a manner that offers trainees exposure in key areas with specialization in Financial Management and Management Decision-Making and Control. This experience is gained through rotation to the various divisions of the National Treasury to gain exposure in the relevant areas as highlighted below:
- Financial Accounting:
- Financial Management
- Taxation, Management Account, and Assurance
- Internal Audit
- Risk Management & Governance
To qualify for the CAA, candidates must have completed or been in their final year of completing the Certificate in the Theory of Accounting (CTA), Post Graduate Diploma in Accounting (PGDA) or B.ComAccountingHonours, which will enable them to write the qualifying board examination.
