Mandela Rhodes Foundation Scholarship Programme

Mandela Rhodes Foundation Scholarship 2021: The Mandela Rhodes Foundation is pleased to announce re-opening 2021 scholarship application aimed supporting high-flying African students in their study and career growth. The scholarship seeks to combine both financial support and leadership programme that will challenge the scholar, allow the scholar to grow and connect with young African change-makers.

The Mandela Rhodes Foundation Scholarship offers comprehensive funding support for the core costs associated with the student’s studies. It covers one-year tuition for honors degree or a two-year master’s degree in any field at a recognized South African institution of higher learning.

Degree Level:

Mandela Rhodes Foundation Scholarship 2021 for African Students (Fully-Funded) is available to undertake Masters level programs at South Africa Universities.

The following subjects are available to study under this scholarship program.

Scholarship Benefits:

The scholarship is fully funded and will cover;

  • Tuition and registration fees
  • allowances for study materials
  • research, medical aid
  • accommodation and meals
  • economy class travel to and from home country to South Africa.

Eligible Nationalities:

African students are eligible.

Eligibility Criteria:

To be considered for the Mandela Rhodes Foundation Scholarship 2021, applicants are expected to meet the following criteria:

  • Applicants must be from Africa between the ages of 19 and 29 and possess a bachelor’s degree with above-average academic results willing to advance his/her educational career in South Africa.
  • Applicants must demonstrate the potential to embody the founding principles of reconciliation, education, entrepreneurship, and leadership. Applicants must have already assumed leadership and made an impact on campus or community.
  • Applicants must be willing to abide by the rules and regulations that govern the conduct of the Mandela Rhodes Foundation scholars.
  • Applicants must be willing to return to their home country and impact their communities with the knowledge acquired.

How to Apply

Interested applicants are to apply online by login onto the application platform to access the application and upload the required documents and essays. Applicants are to ensure that their three referees log onto the platform to upload their recommendation letters directly as the application cannot be submitted without the letters and will not be considered.
